Alan Donegan, Enjoy Presenting’s lead trainer regularly talks to schools and universities about the skills they need to be successful in the modern business climate.
Enjoy believes that formal education leaves a skills gap between college or university and work. Formal education does not teach you how to present, how to manage your time or how to sell and these are some of the most important skills for business life.
There are some pioneering universities such as Reading that are addressing this skills gap but there is much work to be done at college and secondary schools. Enjoy runs a selection of enterprise days for schools as well as bespoke programmes designed to challenge and stretch students developing the skills they really need.
In particular, Enjoy’s lead trainer Alan is a regular contributor to programmes at the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Reading, helping high-potential students to focus their ambitions and develop vital professional skills to advance their career or business start-up dreams.
Alan is passionate about education and believes that formal education does not cover some of the most basic skills that we need to do business today. Were you taught how to present at school? Were you taught to manage your time? Who did you learn from?
Have you taken time to learn these skills or always just got by? Well Enjoy Presenting want to put this right and give today’s students the skills and attitudes that will help them become more employable, more productive and help them to get a better start in business.
“Alan’s passion, humour and straight-forward approach has de-mystified a huge variety of topics for our students. From managing their time and beating procrastination to presenting in a professional manner and mastering the perfect handshake, Alan’s training and expertise have added significant value to our training courses. He takes time to help us clarify our objectives and outcomes and create stimulating content to meet them, ensuring that our students receive exciting, memorable and relevant skills development which perfectly integrates into our in-house entrepreneurship education. Feedback from our students is exceptional.”
